Kluge Center's 15th anniversary Thursday, June 11, 2015 – all day Thomas Jefferson Building, Library of Congress A full day of insights and ideas from more than 70 top scholars from around the world—all former residents at the Kluge Center—as they converge on Capitol Hill for day-long series of scholarly panels and "lightning conversations." Speakers include William Julius Wilson, David Grinspoon, Steven Dick, Ambassador Teresita Schaffer, Lamin Sanneh, John Witte, Jr., Wm. Roger Louis, Maurice Jackson and more. But a remarkable vision from 1897, held in the Library of Congress, challenges the way we usually think of the war and offers a bridge to our own digital era. A special lecture by Ed Ayers, author, historian and President of the University of Richmond. -------------------------------- And coming up in July, the inaugural Daniel K. Inouye Distinguished Lecture, the tenth International Seminar on Decolonization, and lectures by Kluge Fellows Bradley Rogers and Thomas Dodman.
