| This weekend, across our country we will celebrate the 239th anniversary of a warm July day in Philadelphia, when 56 patriots pledged "their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor" to the independence of the United States of America. They had a shared belief that this new nation's citizens were "created equal and endowed with inalienable rights." Learn more about this turning point in our history, and stay safe this 4th of July if you plan to use fireworks. Happy Independence Day!
