Subject: Help Science. Count Birds This Weekend!

Scientists can't be everywhere; that's why they need our help. The Great Backyard Bird Count is this Friday-Monday, February 13-16, and participation is fun, free and easy for all ages. You'll be part Great Backyard Bird Count chickadee posterof a global effort that will help scientists understand migration patterns, year-to-year changes and long-term trends of bird populations everywhere. Just 15 minutes of counting, in your backyard, at a park, by your kids' school—anywhere—is enough. Then submit your observations online or on the BirdLog GBBC mobile app. You can get the kids started with games, a bird song identifier and other fun stuff to pique their interest.

Want more bird facts? Head over to the National Zoo bird site. Then register for this weekend's count and get outside and counting!
