Good evening. Here's the start of tonight's briefing. 
1. Chris Christie may have ended his presidential campaign, but he's still playing a role in the race. The New Jersey governor, who blames Marco Rubio for drumming him out, endorsed Donald Trump, which may prove to be a significant boost in next week's "Super Tuesday" votes in 11 states. Mr. Rubio rode the momentum from Thursday's feisty debate exchanges with Mr. Trump, making fun of his assaultive style and suggesting he's withholding tax records because they would show "he's not as rich as he claims to be." 
2. Melissa Harris-Perry, the host of a self-titled show on MSNBC, said she would not go to the studios on Saturday after weeks of being pre-empted for political coverage. In an email sent to co-workers, she said that she would "not be used as a tool" and that "I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head." In an interview, she backed away from blaming racial motivations for her treatment.
